Horowitz to head NPPG-FS ERISA 3(16) Administrative Fiduciary Services Compliance Department
Red Bank, N.J.- May 9, 2018 — NPPG Fiduciary Services LLC (NPPG-FS) a retirement plan compliance and fiduciary consulting group specializing in ERISA 3(16) Administrative Fiduciary services announces the appointment of Brian J. Horowitz, Esq. as ERISA counsel. Mr. Horowitz will head NPPG’s administrative fiduciary compliance department.
Mr. Horowitz’s extensive fiduciary compliance experience includes advising Fortune 500 companies, family owned businesses, professional service groups and tax-exempt organizations on a wide range of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Department of Labor (DOL) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issues involving the day to day management of retirement plans.
“Appointing Brian as head of the NPPG ERISA compliance department and member of NPPG’s ERISA fiduciary committee reinforces our commitment to provide plan sponsors with the most comprehensive and client centric 3(16) Administrative fiduciary program in the market. As our ERISA 3(16) Administrative Fiduciary practice continues to grow throughout the country, we are proud to provide our clients with even greater depth and guidance through Brian’s expertise,” commented Michael M. Salerno, Founder and President of NPPG. “With over 20 years of extensive experience dealing with the DOL and IRS as it pertains to retirement plans and employee benefits regulatory compliance, audits, and general inquiries; Brian’s proficiency is a tremendous asset to our ERISA 3(16) fiduciary services team and clients. We are delighted to welcome such a seasoned and talented individual to the NPPG family.”
“More than ever before employers of all sizes are on the DOL’s radar for compliance infractions regarding their retirement plan operations. Unfortunately, for many plan sponsors, when facing a DOL audit they risk substantial governmental fines as well as possible legal retribution from plan participants for failing to maintain plan compliance,” Brian Horowitz said. “There has also been an explosion in ERISA plaintiff litigation over the failure by fiduciaries to set up the proper processes and procedures to monitor plan fees and benchmark investment performance of mutual funds and plan service providers selected by plan trustees, resulting in multi-million dollar awards or settlements. What drew me to NPPG is their unwavering commitment to provide a comprehensive fiduciary solution for the plan sponsor by continually enhancing compliance protocols and seeking out the industry’s latest technology to strengthen the fiduciary oversight processes.”
Prior to joining NPPG, Brian J. Horowitz, Esq. worked for a Big 4 accounting firm, a national law firm, an organization which administered 3 health care union pension plans with over $10 billion in assets and multiple Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Horowitz is a member of the New Jersey and New York Bars. Brian will be based out of NPPG’s corporate headquarters in Red Bank, NJ.
